An addition to a historic “summer cottage” on Merriam Hill in Lexington, this “carriage house” is intended to look as if it had been part of the original design. The second floor is a large family room, with a laundry room and bath. The glass connecting element houses a small play area for the kids, and forms a garden gate below.
